Existing Industry Incentive Program

Be on the lookout for this year's Existing Industry Incentive Program application in early September. The Cherokee County Development Authority, in coordination with Cherokee County government, provides a tax incentive program for qualified industries located in Cherokee County. The purpose of this program is to encourage and support local industrial expansion.

To qualify, an industry must meet the following criteria:

  • Held operations in Cherokee County for at least three years (at least 36 months from issuance of business license)
  • Invest a minimum of $150,000 in a qualifying activity within the year
  • Produce a value-added product

Qualifying activities include: acquiring new or reconditioned equipment, and/or acquiring, constructing, expanding or improving existing facilities. The tax incentive applies only to the value of new or reconditioned equipment and/or facility capital improvements acquired during the calendar year. Applications are reviewed and approved by the Cherokee County Development Authority.

Existing Industry Roundtable Meetings

Thanks to Pilgrim's Pride and Wadeken for hosting the Existing Industry Roundtable Table meetings for the Holly Springs and Canton areas. These meetings are a very effective way to meet your neighboring industries and discuss business strategies or possibly even find new suppliers and customers. The Office of Economic Development & Chamber support our local industries and appreciate the attendance and feedback on how we can better serve you.

Local Industry Expansions
