Existing Industry Incentive Program
Each year in Cherokee County the existing industries are offered to participate in the Existing Industry Incentive Program in which they can gain valuable tax incentives. The Cherokee County Development Authority, in coordination with Cherokee County government, provides this tax incentive for qualified industries located within the county. The purpose of the incentive program is to encourage and support local industrial expansion. To qualify, an industry must have operated in Cherokee County for at least three years, invest a minimum of $150,000 in a qualifying activity, and produce a value-added product.
In FY 2009, Cherokee County had two companies participate in the program, which in turn created $4,646,416 in new investment to our region. Since 2001 there has been over $63 million invested in Cherokee County by our existing industries.

Existing Industry Roundtable Meetings
The Development Authority of Cherokee County and the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce host Existing Industry Roundtable meetings in regions of the county each year to keep you abreast of the latest happenings in the community and to assist with challenges related to your success. This year, we will host our kickoff luncheon on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on the Terrace Level of the Chamber of Commerce building.
During 2010, we bring our Roundtable meetings to four different regions of the county to make it convenient for everyone to attend. Please note the dates below for the upcoming Existing Industry Roundtable meetings and plan to attend one in your area. We hope to see you there!
