Operation Thank You!
On April 24, 2010, the Cherokee Office of Economic Development in partnership with the Cherokee Chamber gave a small token of appreciation to the existing industries around the county. Both organizations had representatives that drove to each place of business and distributed approximately 3,800 packets of popcorn to the existing industries and their employees thanking them for locating their businesses within Cherokee County and to let them know their input makes a difference in the lives of our residents. Work Ready Initiative
Cherokee County is closing the gap on becoming Work Ready certified. Currently the County is around 70% with hopes to be certified by late fall. If you would like to know more about the Work Ready program please see the following link; http://www.gaworkready.org/.
Airport Area Existing Industry Roundtable Meeting
A special thanks to Transtechnik for hosting the second Existing Industry Roundtable meeting of the year for businesses in the airport area! The Cherokee Office of Economic Development updated the companies on the recent airport expansion and we heard from many in attendance about their struggles and successes throughout the year. The next meeting will be on August 6, 2010 in the Holly Springs area at Pilgrim's Pride.
