More in store: Outlet mall additions in Woodstock to open in time for holidays

November 10, 2015

The Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta in Woodstock is anticipating new stores to open just in time for the holiday season. There are five stores coming to the outlet mall, two of which will open Thursday.

“There are great deals here and high-end stores with quality. I can speak from being a consumer and employee, you can find great products here and a great assortment of stores,” Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta Marketing Director Janice Kimber said.

The Gap Outlet Store and Banana Republic are set to open Thursday.

“Usually the outlets have the array of what they carry at regular-price stores,” Kimber said, noting the stores typically carry women’s, men’s and children’s apparel. “Come shop and let’s have some fun this holiday season.”

The Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta will be celebrating the opening of the new stores on Nov. 21, with the lighting of a Christmas tree and a visit from Santa. The Limited will be one of the store opening on Nov. 21.

“For the holiday season, we are doing a lot of events with the lighting of the tree and Santa’s visit. Throughout December, we will have fun things happening at different times including carolers, little elves that will take selfies with you and face painters,” Kimber said. “There will be fun things happening that everyone can be a part of as they are shopping. The thought is that around every corner there is a little surprise.”

Opening dates for Eddie Bauer and the Cosmetics Company store are not set as of yet. The Cosmetics Company will have top products including bareMinerals, Urban Decay, Clinique and Estee Lauder.

“We hope they make it for December,” Kimber said. “There usually is, in the retail world, a rush to get a store open in an opportune time when the community is going to come out.”

The outlet mall opened in 2013 around mid-summer and has continued to grow with the city of Woodstock.

“The growth has been amazing. I think it speaks to what the community wants. The old adage, ‘If you build it, they will come;’ it was almost like Woodstock was ready and I think the developers do their homework,” Kimber said. “It is a great place to be. Being a long time resident, it makes me proud to be a part of it; to see this little community grow.”

The Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta is at 915 Ridgewalk Parkway in Woodstock off of Exit 9.

“In essence, we are getting to the point where we have everything that we need and we are in close proximity to everywhere else,” Kimber said. “It is a nice little central hub. I think we just have a spark that makes this a community. It is really growing and it will grow more.”

Though the mall is open-air, there are covered hallways. Kimber said she hopes to see people come out for the holiday seasons.

“It is right in the community and a great experience. We have covered hallways, which is nice to walk outside and get fresh air,” Kimber said. “We hope everyone will come out for our whimsical theme and even though it’s a stressful time for most, hopefully you can come have fun while checking things off the list.”
