1 Million Cups Cherokee Launch was a huge hit!

February 7, 2018

On a very rainy Wednesday, event goers gathered together for a fresh cup of coffee and an opportunity to support Cherokee entrepreneurs.

1 Million Cups Cherokee, an initiative under Fresh Start Cherokee, celebrated its inaugural event at The Circuit, a coworking space at the Woodstock campus of Chattahoochee Technical College.

After a brief meet-and-greet over a cup of coffee, the attendees gathered around the stage to hear from Balco Business Solutions, an innovative accounting startup that serves as a one-stop-shop for small business that integrates the right tools, tech, and dedication to help small business happen. Balco founders Abdel Altamimi and Erick Rivera shared a brief history of their company and goals for the future. The Q&A session with the audience afterward helped them clarify their business model and reach out to fellow entrepreneurs for feedback and fresh ideas.

Out of the 60+ attendees, Socialbot, a robot designed entirely by Cherokee County’s only high school robotics team – the Etowah Electric Eagles – was an immediate crowd pleaser with their shareable selfies. You can check out the selfie feed here: https://www.simplebooth.com/gallery/ZndmHpbgGLX3

If you missed the event this morning, you can still access all the fun! All of the 1MCCHK events will be live streamed and recorded. So, pour yourself a cup of coffee and check out the presentation here: https://www.1millioncups.com/cherokee
