Local Resident Gives Back On Reality Show

CANTON — One of Cherokee County’s rising entrepreneurs recently appeared on a reality television show, which showcases successful business owners giving back to the community.
Sean Belnick, CEO and founder of Bizchair.com, appeared on ABC’s Secret Millionaire, the show that allows successful business owners to hide their identity while volunteering in the community.
The millionaires, according to ABC.com, “will come face-to-face with some truly extraordinary people who put their own needs aside for the sake of others.”
At the end of the show, the millionaires reveal their true identity and donate money to help the volunteers in the community.
Belnick’s episode, which aired on Sunday, features him moving to Brooklyn, N.Y., where he volunteered with Friends of Firefighters and Children of Promise.
Friends of Firefighters was formed as a nonprofit organization in the days following the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and offered therapeutic and mental health resources to active and retired firefighters and their families in the days following the attack.
Children of Promise is a nonprofit organization that offers support programs to children of incarcerated adults.
Belnick during the episode got hands-on experience with the hardships and struggles both organizations face on a daily basis.
Belnick at the end of the episode revealed his true identity to both organizations and donated money to both causes.
Belnick, who lives in Buckhead, said he was contacted by ABC last year to do the show.
He said he decided to do the show since he hadn’t really done much to give back to the community.
“It seemed like a really good opportunity to do that,” he added.
BizChair.com, located off Highway 5 north of Canton, began with selling other manufacturers’ office chairs and eventually began importing its own office chairs from China.
Today, it sells office chairs, stack chairs, folding chairs and recliners, as well as a range of office, home, and medical equipment.
BizChair.com currently has about 175 employees and last year expanded its offices to accommodate the growth it’s experiencing.
Belnick, 25, said each experience was moving because he got to learn about two “incredible” organizations that serve their areas in unique ways.
“It really was an amazing experience,” he said. “It’s hard to put in words, but it was very eye opening and life changing
