Cherokee County Regional AirportOn Friday May 7, 2010 the ribbon cutting took place on recent improvements made to the Cherokee County Airport in Ball Ground. The $34 million dollar expansion includes a 5,000 ft runway and taxiway, a new two story state of the art 10,000 SF terminal building, and adjacent to the terminal building, a new 64,000 SF hangar. The expansion should open up many new doors for Cherokee County. Going forward, the airport will be able to house and fly everything from corporate jets and turbo props to old B-17's.
