Cherokee County became a certified ‘Camera Ready’ designated community through the state’s film office in 2011.  The abundance of unique locations along with ease in permitting makes Cherokee County a great place to film. Since being designated as a Camera Ready community, Cherokee has seen an increase in activity every year.

There have been a number of short films, commercials and reality shows shot in Cherokee over the years. Recently, Cherokee County has been garnering attention from the Hollywood for some large film projects. In fact in 2014, 60% of the film prospects have been for a major motion pictures. In 2015 Ball Ground, Ga in north Cherokee was confirmed for the Tom Cruise drug-crime thriller “Mena.”
