Hydro-Chem unveils new hydrogen plant
HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. – Hydro-Chem is launching mass production of hydrogen-generating plants based on steam methane reforming technology.
The company, a division of Munich-based Linde Engineering North America, announced in May that it has tested and proven the reliability and suitability of the Hydroprime plants in various applications as a competitive and reliable local production alternative to trucked-in bulk gases.
Hydro-Chem President Raju Natrarajan said Linde developed Hydroprime to address the market for efficient, easy-to-install, compact plants by employing his company’s experience in modular hydrogen plant design and fabrication.
Hydroprime plants offer many advantages over traditional supply modes such as truck-delivered liquid hydrogen, electrolytic plants and conventional steam methane reforming plants, Natrarajan said.
Over the past 25 years, Hydro-Chem has developed a full line of on-site hydrogen generators with over two hundred installations around the world.
