Jaipur Living Breaks Ground In Cherokee County

August 23, 2016

The company’s $22.3 million, two-phase capital investment is expected to bring about 100 permanent new jobs to the county.

ACWORTH, GA — Jaipur Living, an award-winning home decor company, on Tuesday turned dirt on its new 180,000-square-foot facility in southwest Cherokee County.

Commemorating the development of the company’s future headquarters and warehouse space, the ceremonial ground breaking event took place at the Cherokee 75 Corporate Park, which sits along Highway 92 east of Interstate 75.

“We stand here today literally on top of our future – the very site that will house Jaipur Living’s new global corporate headquarters and distribution center in Cherokee County, where metro meets the mountains,” said company President Asha Chaudhary. “We love this phrase given its parallel with our own story, which centers on the intersection of our global business at the doorsteps of our artisans, and truly succeeding together through partnership.”

Chaudhary noted the company’s story started with two looms in a small community in India and with its partnership with more than 50,000 artisans “who are the soul of our brand,” Jaipur has become one of the country’s largest exporters of rugs and textile products.

“Over these years, we have never lost sight of our roots or the partners who have shared this journey with us – from our artisans to our local Georgia community, where we have planted new roots and are so proud to continue to grow and evolve our brand,” Chaudhary added.

Local elected officials and stakeholders as well as several members of Jaipur Living’s key business partners were also in attendance.

Marking a $22.3 million capital investment, construction has begun on the development and will take place in two phases. The first phase of the project will result in the company’s new 180,000-square-foot headquarters and distribution center, expected to be complete by summer 2017. Phase two of the development will see the building’s expansion to more than 350,000 square feet by 2020.

This relocation will bring approximately 100 permanent new jobs to the Cherokee County community, with the addition of between 10 and 15 jobs each year over the next four years.

“Through this ongoing development, we are proud to be a part of the fabric of this community, and to contribute to the economic development of Cherokee County…and the state of Georgia through the creation of new job opportunities and truly competitive wages,” the president continued.

Currently based in Norcross, Jaipur Living is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of rugs and textiles. The ground breaking on the company’s new facility marks more than a decade of steady growth and expansion in key categories that include the award-winning rugs that have made Jaipur a global name.

“This year has been an exciting time of change, seeing us through a rebrand(ing) to Jaipur Living, underscoring our vision to serve our customers as a true lifestyle brand – one that will continue to revolutionize the home industry with a transformative business model centered on our passion for people, product and design,” Chaudhary continued. “As a global brand and business, our new facility will position Jaipur Living to better serve our international customer base while sustaining and supporting the company’s steady growth.”
