Investments in Cherokee 75 Corporate Corridor Continue to Surge

Vanderlande, a Dutch based company, celebrated its grand opening into a new state-of-the-art facility in the Cherokee 75 Corridor last week. Vanderlande is a global market leader for logistic process automation at airports and in the parcel market. Combining manufacturing and distribution in this facility will aid in speed to market and service customers such as UPS, FedEx, Amazon and some of North America’s busiest airports, including Atlanta.

This is the first of many grand openings for corporations investing in the corridor. Throughout summer and fall of 2017, Papa Johns Regional Hub, the adidas SPEEDFACTORY (Oechsler Motion), Jaipur Living’s headquarters, and YANMAR America’s Corporate Training & Customer Experience Facility will open. Hiring is underway at all of these new businesses, providing jobs to hundreds in the north Atlanta region.

Initial investment by Majestic Realty in the early 2000s with Cherokee Commerce Center spawned interest in the community’s only exit on I-75. That, coupled with the corporate corridor vision created by the Cherokee Office of Economic Development with Cherokee 75 Corporate Park, has transformed this area of I-75 and SR92 into a global hub. Businesses and developers attribute Cherokee 75’s location in metro Atlanta and the access to talent, housing, recreation, and transportation for its success. Private developers such as Rooker and CORE5 have already invested in the Cherokee 75 Corridor.

The development of this area has been enhanced by collaboration at the local, regional and state level. Partners such as the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Power, and Cobb EMC have played an integral role in the area’s surge.
